The City of O'Fallon is looking for energetic and dependable team members for the position of Personal Trainer. Are you looking for a part-time opportunity where you can use your fitness know-how and skills in developing personalized training programs? Our Personal Trainers enjoy a flexible schedule along with a fun work environment and earn competitive pay with an expected starting rate of pay of $25.00 hourly.

As part of our Recreation Department at the Renaud Center, this position plays an important role in providing fitness instruction to individuals. Generally, you'll conduct a few sessions each week.

As a Personal Trainer, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing safe, professional and exciting comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals.
  • Monitoring and instructing clients during personal training sessions on the safe and effective use of strength training equipment, as well as cardiovascular and flexibility conditioning.
  • Educating members on current health and fitness issues and trends.
  • Conducting fitness consultations for new clients, including pre-participation, screening involving medical history, lifestyle questionnaires and goal setting in order to assess and recommend personal training programs.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate and current client files.
  • Communicating with new members and guests, including phone calls, to schedule service sessions.
  • Attending regular meetings with the Fitness department, as well as management and development meetings.
  • Keeping Personal Trainer and CPR/AED certifications current.

We're looking for someone who is knowledgeable in basic fitness principles and skills. This person should be comfortable teaching individuals one on one.

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Know first aid and CPR
  • Be available to teach in the evening
  • Have specialized certification training from a nationally recognized organization, such as ACE, NASM or AFAA
