This position is responsible for coordinating the Renaud Spirit Center Aquatics programming for the City of O'Fallon.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Manages the operations and maintenance of the indoor aquatics facilities; including the basic repair and upkeep of pool equipment.
  • Assists with the maintenance of aquatic facilities outside the Renaud Spirit Center.
  • Manages all aspects of Aqua Aerobics and Torpedoes Swim Team.
  • Oversees the operations and maintenance of all equipment at the Renaud Spirit Center.
  • Develops all formal bids for programs and projects.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies.
  • Responds to, assists staff and manages results of customer complaints and concerns.
  • Compiles, analyzes, reports and maintains program, staffing and financial data.
  • Directs full and part time staff and recommends policy and operational improvements.
  • Manages custodial staff at the Renaud Spirit Center.
  • Assists in overseeing the operations of the recreation complex, when assigned.
  • Coordinates and assists with training and recertification of lifeguard staff department wide.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Additional Knowledge Required

  • Knowledge of pool chemistry, basic repair and upkeep of pool equipment.
  • Knowledge of recreation program development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the management and maintenance of assigned facilities.
  • Knowledge of city policies and procedures, including purchasing and budgeting procedures.
  • Skill in the supervision of personnel.
  • Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer, calculator, copier, and facsimile machine.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations.

 

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a related field.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the major duties of the position and the work of subordinate positions in order to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with five or more years experience or service.
  • Possession of, or ability to, readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Possession of, or ability to, readily obtain the following certifications: CPR, Certified Pool Operations, and Lifeguard Instructor.
  • Certified Parks and Recreation professional preferred.
